JETM, trading as Uptown Taxis, started in 1992 with a single taxi and grew to become the largest taxi operator in South Australia.
Our story
Growth built on doing the basics properly
As the company grew, JETM opened a new purpose‑built depot in 1997, complete with an up‑to‑date workshop and office. Eleven years later that single site housed four business units — taxis, buses, maintenance and training.
JETM also obtained its Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status and was approved by the government to conduct the Driver Accreditation Course.
In 2008 the Corporate Shuttle division was formed — a professional transport operator service for 5 to 30 passengers offering a genuine “one to one” service.

Taxi Cab Training Centre
The TCTC becomes the premier training provider for the industry.

Access Training Centre
An RTO specialising in access equipment and earth moving training joins the group, delivering across SA, NSW, WA and New Zealand.

Corporate Shuttle is formed
A professional transport operator service for 5 to 30 passengers, built around a “one to one” standard of care.

South Australia’s largest
JETM becomes the largest taxi operator in the state.
